| YouTube: Parrot AR Drone iPhone Controlled Quadricopter Today, Parrot unveiled its AR Drone at CES 2010, a helicopter that can be controlled using an iPhone or an iPod Touch, it works with its on-board WiFi system and two video cameras embedded, one in front and one below the cockpit. It is very easy to pilot the AR Drone by tilting your iPhone slightly, when you release it, it stabilizes right away. To turn you just need to tilt the phone on the left or on the right. I tried it a month ago and the piloting is extremely accurate and easy to learn. See the video ( I am not in the video). The on-board Linux-based computer allows targets detection and integration of augmented reality. Software developpers will be able to create gaming applications via the open source development platform www.ardrone.org |
